A Cry for Help

Volunteer Bank is desperately needed

“The Community Centre has recently had a number of long-term members retire from the Committee that manages the Centre. Ideally it would be great to replace these people BUT, sadly, not everyone wants to join a committee, therefore, the Committee are looking to recruit volunteers who could be called upon when Committee members are not available to undertake specific tasks. You could do as much or as little as you want. Tasks include:-

  • Setting up the chairs/tables for bookings (normally in the afternoon or evening)
  • Setting up and taking down chairs/tables for one-off events such as film nights, theatre productions or the pantomime
  • Manning the box office and/or the bar for one-off events
  • Meeting hirers to explain where everything is that they might need

In addition, we need a marketing person who can work alongside the Website Manager/Social Media administrator to effectively promote the events and activities at the centre across all platforms. Necessary material for promotion would be provided by the committee.

Whether you are a long-term resident or new to the village, so long as you have some free time and are willing to be proactive in helping to ensure the continuing success of a valuable community asset, then please contact us and we can discuss in more detail how you can contribute. Email chairman@tarvincommunitycentre.org or secretary@tarvincommunitycentre.org  – we look forward to hearing from you.
